Valentines ♡ Cakes

Valentines day is fast approaching so if your still looking for a thoughtful gift for the one you love or yourself, why not give these simple yet satisfying homemade treats a try.

I bought the silicone cake pop mould that features the heart design from the Avon brochure or you might even find the same one a little cheaper on eBay 😘

You can use any cake batter to fill the mould with then put on the lid and let the oven finish the job. Should take 10-15 minutes tops. Once baked leave to cool then gently push them out of the moulds. Get your lollipop sticks included with the mould. Melt your chocolate, candy melts or make your icing , whichever your planning to use to decorate your cake pops with. Top tip: if it’s your first time making them start simple and use icing and sprinkles, then once you get the hang of it as they can be pretty tricky to master, elevate your designs.

You’ll want to dip the lolipop sticks into what you’ve melted then insert them half way up into the cake pop and leave to set for a few hours. I recommend  buying a foam block like they use for flower making so you can stand the cake pops vertical. I also like to put them in the fridge as this helps to speed up the setting process a little.

Here comes the tricky part, when it comes to coating and decorating the cake pops themselves you can dip, spread or coat with a spoon. This requires a bit of practice so it becomes natural to you and for them to look absolutely perfect but in the meantime have fun trying, why not get the kids involved they’ll love having a go & making a mess!

Here are a few I’ve made so far:

I would love to see any of my readers cake pop creations in the comments section below this post 😙

I can’t actually remember where I bought my ♡ shaped cake tin from it was a few years ago now.Maybe Wilkinsons or some other homeware store. If you do decide to get one of your own my suggestion would be to get one with a loose bottom as it can be difficult to remove certain bakes sometimes if the tin hasn’t been greased properly etc.

This latest ♡ cake was a plain vanilla sponge topped with glace icing plus hundreds and thousands. My friend had asked for one in exchange for some beauty treatments, now who am I to say no to a bit of cake making and pampering 🤗

There are plenty of other Valentines inspired bakes for you to try too. Here’s a few of mine(excuse some of the terrible pictures):

Whatever you choose to bake your loved ones this Valentines day is bound to put a smile on their face and leave them with that warm fuzzy feeling inside.
